Understanding Calls Flow in Teams PowerPack - Call Analytics
Teams PowerPack - Call Analytics lets you see the complete path of any call with Call Flows. Start in the Calls Report view and click the magnifying glass icon in the far-right column. This opens a detailed view of every step the call took.
In this view, look for a second magnifying glass next to any session involving a user. Click it to get extra details just for that person.
The screen splits, with four data tables on the right side. They cover:
- The user making or receiving the call
- Network details
- Device info
- Communication stream metrics
Teams API provides deeper details for the Teams user answering or placing the call, so for inbound calls select the “To” option above the use details data table to review the information concerning the Teams user.
Key Tables and What They Show
From (top option for outbound calls): Shows the caller's display name, the platform they used and Teams client details.
To (top option for inbound calls): Focuses on the person answering. Switch to "To" above the user details table to see info from the Teams API, like deeper user specifics.
Network: Lists connection type (wired or wireless), your local IP address, network subnet, and other connection basics.
Device: Names the device used (like "Surface High Definition Audio") and shares sound quality metrics. This gives clear visibility into call quality, spot if someone used a headset (cleaner audio) or the computer's built-in mic/speakers (often glitchier). Key metrics include:
Streams: Breaks down call quality for the current stream. It gives an overall rating (good or poor) based on those metrics—all tied to the Teams user answering the call.
Use these details to spot issues fast, like bad connections or device problems, and improve calls.
